New Inconsistencies In Warren Report

The letter is addressed to Melvin 1. Bert, AssociateDean for Behavioral and Social Sciences, who must now matte nts own recommendation and pass the case on to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Apparently, Bers did not feel 'the letter of transmittal contained enough information for him to make a decision, so he asked Teevan to elaborate. This resulted in Teevan's writing a supplementary memo which is reproduced below in full. Dr. Waterman felt compelled to respond to both the original and supplementary departmental recommendations, so she wrote Bers two memos disputing Teevam findings recommending that tenure be denied. Both of those memos are reprinted here. The ASP has chosen to print this private correspondence because it feels that students have a right to know what their employees (the administration and faculty) are doing in cases where stuaent interest are directly at stake. We feel that this is one of those cases. The decision-makers should be held accountable for their actions.
